A single-storey house for Mr D.: the specifications
We met Mr D. for the first time in March 2018 at the Quimper home show. He was a future retiree working in North Finistère and living in Quimper. He was looking for a building plot in South Finistère, and more specifically in the Fouesnantais area, so that he could be closer to the coast and live... on one level with all the advantages of a new home (custom design, heating, home automation, etc.).
At the end of July 2018, Céline Cornec presented him with a plot of land in the "Le Clos du Letty" development, located 1 km from Plage du Letty and 2 km from the shops in Bénodet. The 500 m² plot was perfectly suited to his plans for a single-storey home and his desire to enjoy a garden without too much upkeep. Theproject development with our customer
TheOur design office is working on the 1st preliminary project, which will be presented to Mr D. in September 2018. He wanted to take his time to choose the right builder and think carefully about his layout and needs. At each new meeting, he will be able to see how the house and interior plan are developing, thanks to our 3D design software.
As the weeks went by, the plan took shape: the living room with its open-plan kitchen naturally found its place on the south side of the garden, while the 3 bedrooms, the shower rooms, the entrance hall and the garage were on the north side. To limit overlooking while preserving the light, long narrow windows have been installed in the bedrooms, large bay windows have been added to illuminate the living room and a functional pantry has been created between the garage and the kitchen.
Our discussions about the services and choice of materials set the pace for the development of the house's specifications, and enabled Mr D. to meet our team Céline and Maud for advice and administrative support, Frédéric for technical questions and site supervision, and Yannick for the development of plans and quantities.
The construction and handing over the keys
The construction contract is signed in April 2019, the permit is obtained in July and work starts in October 2019.
Throughout the building process, Mr D. met Frédéric regularly at the building site, in the presence of the tradesmen - these discussions were important to confirm the choices made, consider any changes and check on the progress of the project.
Mr D. takes delivery of his house in September 2020 after 11 months of construction - he can now enjoy his garden and the proximity of the ocean in complete peace of mind.
