Discover the job of works supervisor with Jade!

Jade Bénéteau has just joined the Polimmo La Maison adventure. We interviewed her to find out more about her job as a works supervisor.

Hello JadeCan you introduce yourself and tell us about your career?

My name is Jade BénéteauI'm 25.
Ever since I was a little girl I knew I wanted to be in the building trade, in the broadest sense of the term. In fact, I've always had a passion for architecture.
I did a BAC STI2D in architecture and construction in Rennes and then a BTS in public works in Nantes. In the end, I didn't fall in love with civil engineering. Following a professional opportunity, I stopped my studies after this BTS.

The professional opportunity I had was in the naval sector, in construction site management. So I spent 2 years at Chantiers de l'Atlantique, where I coordinated all the trades involved in the passenger cabins on cruise liners. It was a very rewarding experience, both in human and personal terms!
Knowing that I really wanted to get a foothold in the building trade, I had two experiences with general building contractors (specialising in the tertiary sector). But for personal reasons I had to move to another region, and therefore to another job.
After that, I joined Polimmo La Maison.

Can you tell us why you wanted to join the Polimmo La Maison team, and what you're looking for? your missions ?

I decided to join Polimmo La Maison because I liked the spirit of the people I met. A state of mind solidarity, conviviality, mutual aid, trust in a company on a human scale. For me, these points are essential if I'm to feel good about working for a company.
I am currently works manager in Polimmo's single-family homes division. My job involves coordinating all the parties involved, and managing the financial and administrative aspects of the project. Not forgetting providing support for our customers and partners!
It's a very demanding and exciting job. Every job is unique!

In your opinion, what makes a good works supervisor? How do you view your job ?

For me, a good works supervisor is above all a human being. You have to be organised, a good listener and a problem solver. A good foreman or forewoman is someone who knows how to work in coordination with his or her colleagues. It's a team job!
You have to be passionate to do what you do, whether it's 'conductive' or any other job. If you're passionate and determined, you can do anything you set your mind to.

What are the main challenges waiting for you at Polimmo La Maison?

My main challenges are to :

  • expand the list of subcontractors
  • have genuine partnerships with them and relationships based on trust
  • to build more and more buildings in order to expand the Polimmo teams.

Thank you Jade, and welcome to Polimmo La Maison!
